Johanna Freeman

Years of teaching at FPS: 15 years (10 years as a lead teacher)

Teaching certification: Florida Childhood Development Associate Credential (CDAE) and continuing classes in early childhood education

Mrs. Freeman says her favorite three aspects of teaching pre-kindergarteners are “making learning fun because I want the children to look forward to school,” “building relationships,” and “involving the parents through an open-door policy.” She enjoys teaching at FPS because she has “the freedom to share the love of Jesus with every child. Each class is my personal mission field.”

Outside of teaching preschool, Mrs. Freeman has been married for 30 years; she and her husband have three daughters. She has lived in DeLand for most of her life. She especially enjoys music and spending time biking. Mrs. Freeman says, “I am a born-again Christian; the most important thing in my life is Jesus. I enjoy working with children; this is where the Lord put me and I love it.”

Scripture: Philippians 4:6; Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition. 4:13; I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
